SSC CGL परीक्षा तीन चरणों में आयोजित होती है:

  1. Tier 1 – Objective MCQ (Computer Based Test)

SYLLABUS TIER-I OF THE EXAMNATION :

SSC CGL Tier 1 Syllabus 

Note: If necessary, the SSC CGL examination may be conducted in two shifts for different batches of candidates. All questions will be Objective Multiple Choice type. The paper will be set in Hindi and English for Parts A, B, and C, while Part D will be in English only.

A. General Intelligence & Reasoning

This section will include both verbal and non-verbal type questions. Topics include:

  • Analogies, similarities and differences
  • Spatial visualization and orientation
  • Problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making
  • Visual memory, discrimination, observation
  • Relationship concepts and arithmetical reasoning
  • Figural classification and number series
  • Coding-decoding, statement & conclusion, syllogistic reasoning

B. General Awareness

The General Awareness section is designed to test the candidate’s knowledge of the environment and its application to society. Key areas include:

  • Current events (national & international)
  • Everyday observations with a scientific aspect
  • India and its neighbouring countries
  • Sports, History, Culture, Geography
  • Economic scene and General Polity
  • Indian Constitution and Scientific Research

These questions will not require specialized study of any discipline, but general knowledge is essential.

C. Numerical Aptitude

This section will test the candidate’s ability to use numbers and number sense effectively. Topics include:

  • Computation of whole numbers, decimals, and fractions
  • Relationships between numbers
  • Sense of order and magnitude
  • Estimation and prediction of outcomes
  • Appropriate operations for real-life problem solving
  • Alternative computation methods

The level of questions will be based on 10+2 standard mathematics, focusing more on concepts rather than lengthy calculations.

D. English Comprehension

This section will test a candidate’s ability to:

  • Understand correct English
  • Basic comprehension skills
  • Grammar and writing ability

The difficulty level of General Intelligence, General Awareness, and English sections will be in line with the graduation-level qualification prescribed for SSC CGL posts.


SSC CGL Tier 2 Exam Pattern

Tier-II of the Combined Graduate Level Examination -2010will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice and will be conducted over two days during a weekend. It will consist of three different papers/subjects and depending upon the category of posts applied for, the candidate will be required to appear in one, two or three papers, as the case may be.

SSC Tier 2 Exam pattern

Tier-II of the SSC CGL Examination consists of objective type multiple-choice questions. Depending on the post applied for, candidates will have to appear in one, two, or three papers. Below is the complete subject-wise syllabus based on the official SSC CGL syllabus PDF.

Paper-I: Arithmetic Ability

This paper will test quantitative aptitude with focus on mathematical problem-solving. Topics include:

Important Notes for SSC CGL Tier-II

  • Note 1: For visually handicapped candidates with 40%+ disability opting for a scribe, Numerical Aptitude paper will exclude graphs, diagrams, and figures.
  • Note 2: SSC has discretion to fix different minimum qualifying marks for each category and subject.
  • Note 3: Tier-I marks will be counted in final ranking along with Tier-II for interview/selection.
